Rainbow Brite

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of an 80’s Rainbow Brite franchise, Playmates Toys wanted to create a line of fashion dolls. The challenge was that this required aging up the original character while staying true to the original premise of the story.

Using an archetypal approach and tapping into social media fan sites, I co-developed a new brand strategy and story world. Working across multiple mediums we created a comprehensive story revision, interactive online experiences, screenplays for animated shorts, character profiles, and a new hyper-imagined Rainbowland.
